The run to Munich is being run as a relay. This means that the runners have been divided up into two groups, each with their own team of "assistants". Each group of runners runs for 6 hours, with each runner running for approximately 10 minutes every hour. At the end of each 6 hour period, the groups swap over. The group that was running now travels in the camper vans until the next changeover point. This gives them approximately 6 hours to eat, have showers (if possible) and try to sleep.
